Frontline Fire Training Ltd offers three practical, awareness-based courses designed to help organisations across the South West: Fire Awareness for all staff, Fire Warden or Fire Marshal for nominated personnel, and Portable Firefighting Equipment Familiarisation as a standalone or agreed additional session.

Practical On-Site Training

All training is delivered on-site and contextualised using information supplied through a short pre-course questionnaire. Courses are led by Guy Cambouropoulos, drawing on operational experience as part of an Enhanced Fire Response Team within a complex hospital environment.

Courses are practical, proportionate and designed to support relevant workplace fire-safety duties. Certificates of attendance are provided for the Client’s training records.

Courses may be booked individually or combined where appropriate. Any combined delivery, preferential pricing and applicable conditions will be confirmed in Frontline’s written quotation.

Fire Awareness Training

(Approximately 1 hour, for up to 16 Participants)

Give your entire team the clear, everyday knowledge they need to stay safe and help prevent incidents. This practical, engaging session covers:

How fires start (the fire triangle and common causes)
Simple prevention steps you can apply immediately in your workplace
How people behave in emergencies, including mental health considerations and why a calm response matters
Raising the alarm, evacuation principles and the importance of following the Client’s established emergency procedures
General awareness of fire alarms and portable firefighting equipment, with personal safety and evacuation remaining the priority

Suitable for all employees, new starters, part-time staff, contractors and volunteers who require general workplace fire safety awareness.

The course supports the provision of suitable workplace fire-safety training by building practical awareness and confidence across the team.

The session uses clear presentation content, group discussion, relevant examples and opportunities for questions throughout.

Fire Warden or Fire Marshal Training

(Approximately 2 to 3 hours, for up to 16 Participants)

Equip your nominated Fire Wardens or Fire Marshals with the practical knowledge and confidence to support your organisation’s established fire procedures. This interactive course focuses on fire prevention, safe evacuation support, clear communication and personal safety.

This course covers:

• The role of a Fire Warden or Fire Marshal within your organisation’s established arrangements

• Identifying and reporting common fire hazards

• Routine checks of escape routes, fire doors and relevant fire safety equipment

• Responding calmly when the fire alarm is raised

• Supporting an evacuation and communicating clearly during an emergency

• Sweep principles where these form part of your organisation’s documented procedures, including clear personal safety limits

• General awareness of people who may require additional evacuation support, including PEEPs and GEEPs

• Human behaviour, stress and maintaining calm during an evacuation

• General principles of assembly point reporting and liaison with the Fire and Rescue Service

• General awareness of fire alarm panels and portable firefighting equipment

OPTIONAL PRACTICAL FAMILIARISATION

Where included in the booking, participants can handle fire blankets and release short controlled discharges from water and CO₂ extinguishers under direct supervision. Participation is voluntary and no live fire is used.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

The course is suitable for nominated Fire Wardens or Fire Marshals, supervisors and team leaders. It supports relevant workplace fire safety duties and can be contextualised using information supplied by the Client.

It does not replace your organisation’s fire risk assessment, emergency plan or site specific procedures.

Delivery includes clear presentation content, discussion, relevant workplace examples and opportunities for questions. No timed evacuation drills or simulations are included.

Certificates of attendance are provided for the Client’s training records. They confirm participation but do not constitute a regulated qualification or, by themselves, demonstrate competence.

Portable Fire-Fighting Equipment Familiarisation

PORTABLE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT FAMILIARISATION

(Approximately 45 minutes for up to 16 participants.)

Give your team a practical understanding of portable firefighting equipment, its limitations and when evacuation is the safest action.

This session covers:

• Common extinguisher types and how they are identified

• How extinguisher suitability varies depending on the type of fire

• Why using unsuitable equipment can increase the danger

• The limitations of portable firefighting equipment and when it should not be used

• Personal safety, maintaining a clear escape route and withdrawing early

• Why raising the alarm and evacuating remain the priority

• Fire blanket awareness and handling

PRACTICAL FAMILIARISATION

Following a satisfactory on-the-day safety check, participants can handle fire blankets and release short controlled discharges from water and CO₂ extinguishers at a non-ignited target under direct supervision. Participation is voluntary and no live fire is used.

The session is suitable for workplace participants who require basic awareness and supervised familiarisation with portable firefighting equipment. It can be booked separately or added to another Frontline Fire Training course.

Certificates of attendance are provided for the Client’s training records.
