The Courses we offer

Frontline Fire Training Ltd offers three practical, awareness-based courses designed to help organisations meet their legal duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRFSO). Fire Awareness builds essential staff knowledge on risks, prevention, and safe response. Fire Warden / Fire Marshal equips nominated staff to support evacuations and coordination. Portable Fire-Fighting Equipment Familiarisation provides safe extinguisher decision-making with optional familiarisation. All support compliance while being voluntary and proportionate.

Our  Fire Safety Training Courses

All training is delivered on-site, tailored to your workplace via a short pre-course questionnaire, and led by a trainer with over two years’ experience working as part of an Enhanced Fire Response Team (EFRT) within a complex NHS mental health and community hospital setting (2023-2026).

Courses are awareness-based, proportionate, practical, and compliant with UK legislation — participation is always voluntary and certificates confirm attendance.

Fire Awareness Training

(1 - 2 hour) Give your entire team the clear, everyday knowledge they need to stay safe and help prevent incidents. This practical, engaging session covers:

  • How fires start (the fire triangle and common causes)

  • Simple prevention steps you can apply immediately in your workplace

  • How people behave in emergencies — including mental health considerations and why calm response matters

  • Safe alarm activation, evacuation principles, and helping others (with introduction to PEEPs for vulnerable colleagues)

  • Basic awareness of alarms and equipment — always with the message: evacuate first unless it's clearly safe and low-risk

Ideal for all staff levels — new starters, part-timers, contractors, volunteers — in low-to-medium risk environments (offices, schools, hotels, warehouses, healthcare-adjacent sites, and more).

Fire Warden / Fire Marshal Training

(2–3 hours, flexible format)

Equip your nominated Fire Wardens / Marshals with calm, practical skills to support safe outcomes in an emergency. This interactive session builds confidence, clear decision-making, and strong communication during evacuations.

This course covers:

  • Daily responsibilities — spotting hazards, checking exits and equipment, reporting issues, supporting your fire risk assessment

  • Calm alarm response and safe initiation of evacuation procedures

  • Sweep principles, door checking, fallback rules, and personal safety limits

  • Supporting vulnerable persons using PEEPs / GEEPs and person-centred approaches

  • Mental health awareness and techniques for managing panic and stress during evacuations

  • Communication and authority during evacuation

  • Effective liaison and handover to Fire & Rescue Service

  • Fire panel and safety equipment awareness (theory level)

Optional Practical Familiarisation (If Suitable Outdoor Area Available)

Where suitable space and conditions allow, we can include an optional supervised familiarisation session with portable fire-fighting equipment. Participants may:

  • Discharge a short controlled burst from a water extinguisher

  • Discharge a short controlled burst from a COâ‚‚ extinguisher

  • Handle and deploy a fire blanket

  • Observe safe operating distances and limitations

This is a confidence-building familiarisation exercise — not live-fire training and not a competency qualification in extinguisher use.

Ideal for designated wardens/marshals, supervisors, team leads in low-to-medium risk settings. Builds directly on basic awareness training and supports your organisation’s legal duties under RRFSO (including Article 21 for nominated persons), while supporting (but not itself ensuring) compliance with your site-specific fire risk assessment.

Interactive format with slides, discussions, non-pressure scenarios, and real-world examples — flexible timing (can be split into multiple sessions if needed). No timed drills or simulations.

Portable Fire-Fighting Equipment Familiarisation
 

(45 minutes) Give your team clear understanding of portable extinguishers and confident decision-making. This short, safe session covers:

  • Main extinguisher types (water for textiles, COâ‚‚ for electrical/flammable liquids) — labels, colour coding, safe uses

  • Core principle: personal safety first — "fight vs evacuate" decision-making (only consider use if very small fire, clear escape, trained, and safe)

  • Why evacuation is almost always the safest action in real fires

  • Mental health considerations: staying calm under stress

  • Optional supervised short-burst familiarisation (1–2 seconds, water/COâ‚‚ only, one person at a time, outdoors where possible, direct supervision) — entirely voluntary

Ideal for staff who need basic extinguisher awareness or as an add-on to awareness training. Supports RRFSO duties around equipment familiarity, while supporting (but not itself ensuring) compliance with your site-specific fire risk assessment.

No live fire, no pressure, no simulations — just clear guidance and optional hands-on familiarisation if requested and suitable.
