Health & Safety Statement
Frontline Fire Training Ltd
Version 1.0 – January 2026
1. Our Commitment to Health & Safety
Frontline Fire Training Ltd is committed to providing fire safety training in a manner that is safe, proportionate, and compliant with all relevant UK health and safety legislation. We recognise our duty of care to trainees, clients, and any other persons affected by our activities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Health and safety is integral to how our training is designed, delivered, and reviewed.
2. Legal Framework
Our training activities are delivered in accordance with, and informed by, the following legislation and guidance (as applicable):
· Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
· Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
· Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
· Fire Safety Act 2021
· Building Safety Act 2022
· Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
· Equality Act 2010
· Relevant guidance from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and fire authorities
· Data Protection Act 2018 (as amended)
We ensure our training is designed to support clients in meeting their own legal duties under fire safety legislation. This training supports organisations in meeting their duties, but does not itself ensure compliance.
3. Risk Assessment
Frontline Fire Training Ltd undertakes suitable and sufficient risk assessments for all training activities, including practical elements involving portable fire-fighting equipment. Risk assessments consider:
· The training environment
· The nature of the activity
· The number of participants
· Equipment used
· Supervision and control measures
Control measures are applied to reduce risk to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable.
4. Training Environment
Training is typically delivered:
· On the client’s premises, or
· At a location agreed in advance with the client
Clients remain responsible for:
· The general safety of their premises
· Fire alarm systems
· Site-specific evacuation arrangements
· Confirming a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment is in place
Frontline Fire Training Ltd will cooperate fully with site rules, permits, and local safety arrangements.
5. Practical Training Activities
Portable Fire-Fighting Equipment
Where practical fire extinguisher familiarisation (awareness-based, non-live) is delivered:
· Training is conducted outdoors where reasonably practicable
· Equipment is controlled and supervised at all times
· Participants receive clear instruction before use
· Short, controlled demonstrations are used to allow participation without unnecessary risk
Foam extinguishers are not routinely used during training due to environmental considerations. Water and COâ‚‚ extinguishers may be used, alongside explanation and demonstration of other extinguisher types.
6. Participant Safety & Fitness to Take Part
Participation in practical elements of training is optional and is undertaken at the participant's discretion.
Frontline Fire Training Ltd does not require participants to disclose medical conditions or personal health information. Participants are expected to consider their own ability to safely take part in practical activities.
Where a participant is unable or unwilling to take part in a practical element for any reason, they may observe instead. Observation is considered appropriate for awareness-based training.
No participant will be pressured to take part in any activity they believe they cannot complete safely.
7. Supervision and Control
All practical activities are:
· Led by a trainer
· Closely supervised
· Conducted with clear instructions and safety briefings
Training is designed to be realistic but controlled, prioritising safety over unnecessary complexity or risk.
8. Incident Reporting
Any accidents, incidents, or near misses occurring during training will be:
· Managed immediately
· Recorded appropriately and reported to HSE under RIDDOR where required (e.g., serious injuries or dangerous occurrences)
· Reviewed to identify any required improvements to training delivery or control measures
9. Continuous Improvement
Frontline Fire Training Ltd is committed to continuous improvement in health and safety. Training content, delivery methods, and risk assessments are reviewed regularly and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, guidance, or operational experience.
10. Responsibility
Overall responsibility for health and safety within Frontline Fire Training Ltd rests with the company director.
In the event of concerns about the director's conduct, these may be escalated to an external health and safety consultant or HSE.
Frontline Fire Training Ltd provides awareness-based training only. We do not act as the Responsible Person, fire risk assessor, enforcing authority, or competent fire engineer. Responsibility for compliance always remains with the dutyholder.
We maintain appropriate insurance; cover limits available on request.
