Overview This document demonstrates the competence of the trainer delivering fire safety training on behalf of Frontline Fire Training Ltd. Competence is evidenced through relevant operational experience, formal training and qualifications, ongoing exposure to real-world fire safety environments, experience in delivering instruction to others, and knowledge of
Current UK fire safety legislation and guidance.
Relevant Operational Experience Over two years’ experience working as part of an Enhanced Fire Response Team (EFRT) within a complex NHS mental health and community hospital setting (2023-2026). Responsibilities included:

Immediate response to fire alarm activations across a multi-building site

Investigating alarm causes and determining whether incidents were false alarms or confirmed fires
-
Supporting containment or initial firefighting actions where safe to do so
-
Assisting with evacuation to places of relative safety
-
Operating and understanding fire alarm panels and zone plans
-
Liaising with emergency services on arrival
-
Supporting site fire procedures and reporting requirements
This experience provides a practical, realistic understanding of how fire safety procedures operate beyond classroom theory.

Fire Response & Fire Safety Duties As part of the EFRT role, involved in responding to fire alarm activations, supporting evacuations in occupied buildings, and delivering fire safety inductions and equipment familiarisation to staff across multiple wards. This role developed strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in live operational environments.

Training Experience (Delivering to Others) Direct experience in:

Delivering fire safety inductions to new and existing staff

Supporting and training new members joining the EFRT

Demonstrating the safe use of evacuation equipment

Explaining fire procedures, roles, and responsibilities in a healthcare setting

Training Approach The training approach is practical and realistic, proportionate to risk, focused on awareness, confidence, and safe behaviour, and designed to complement site-specific procedures. Delivered in a professional but engaging manner, avoiding unnecessary pressure scenarios.

Scope & Limitations Frontline Fire Training Ltd provides awareness-based training and supervised practical instruction only. We do not certify competence or qualifications, do not replace professional fire risk assessments, and do not train participants to act as firefighters. Certificates confirm attendance only.

This ensures that all training content and delivery methods remain up-to-date and proportionate to current risks and legal requirements. Evidence of CPD activities is maintained internally and can be provided on request where appropriate.
